Overview

Media Savvy CIC's main aim is to promote:

  • education
  • employability skills
  • creativity
  • recovery and rehabilitation

They work with groups and individuals across Sunderland and South Tyneside.

They mainly work with people suffering with their mental health, ex-offenders, individuals with a learning disability and/or autism and long-term unemployed.

This is done through courses around digital arts, media, ICT or health, fitness and wellbeing.


Support available

Media Savvy CIC have partnered with South Tyneside Council to offer 16 to 25 year olds who live in South Tyneside, flexible, fun and tailored digital sessions through creative arts and media.

The initial offer will be a 1 day/week online digital session. They will look to provide face to face teaching session in South Tyneside.

They do not deliver to a strict weekly curriculum in the same way as a school or college.

Their work has a strong element of personalisation and where possible, is tailored to specifically meet an individual's needs.


Who can access the service

16 to 25-year-olds living in South Tyneside.

You don't need to have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), but the service recommend that you have a brief discussion with a staff member before making a referral.


How to access the service

The service has a flexible referral process.

As long as an individual has been risk assessed (where appropriate), there are a wide range of referral methods, including via call, text, WhatsApp, email or social media (private message).
